Aparna Ravindra Phalke,
Aparna Phalke is a Ph.D. student in the Environment and Resources Program, Centre for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE), Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, University of Wisconsin-Madison. In this project she is working with Dr. Mutlu Ozdogan. Her research focuses on global cropland mapping of Europe, Middle East and North Africa. She is interested in the study of dynamics of land-use/ land-cover change and impact of climate change on its dynamics. She is also interested in algorithm and model development for cropland classification and the tradeoffs between temporal and spatial resolutions of satellite imageries.
Aparna received her Master of Technology ( M.Tech.) in Remote Sensing and GIS from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand in 2012 and a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) in Agricultural Engineering from the College of Agricultural Engineering, Marathwada Agricultural University, India in 2009. Before joining her Ph.D. in UWM, she worked as a Research Associate under FAO, UN project in the Water Resource and Management department of the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.
