The Puget Sound Ecosystem Portfolio model is designed as a set of spatially-explicit landscape metrics that will be used to evaluate projected land use and nearshore change for Puget Sound decadal scenarios through 2060. These scenarios, which reflect uncertainty in human behavior, climate change impacts, and other drivers, are being developed through the Future Risk Assessment Project (FRAP), led by Oregon State University. The metrics are being chosen via meetings, interviews, and workshops in consultation with Puget Sound Nearshore Ecosystem Restoration Project team members, the Puget Sound Partnership staff, regional experts, and stakeholders. The EPM will result in landscape metric maps for each scenario that reflect changes in human well-being, as impacted by changes in ecosystem services and valued ecosystem components.
