Nathan Wood and Amy Mathie are co-located at the USGS Cascades Volcano Observatory in Vancouver, Washington. This co-location with Geologic Discipline researchers in the Volcano Hazards Program has provided WGSC with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with natural-hazard researchers from other USGS programs, State agencies, and local universities. It has also facilitated interaction with local and State emergency managers in the development and communication of hazard-related research in the Pacific Northwest.
